It is safe to say that the most frustrating thing that can happen when replacing your bathroom faucet is breaking the tabs off those hard-to-reach plastic locknuts. The jaws on a conventional basin wrench will only grab one tab at a time and when they are old and brittle they break very easily. Once the tabs are gone there is no real easy way to remove those stubborn lock nuts aside from a hammer and chisel. This is when a 30 minute job turns into a 3 hour job and the frustration begins! Superior Tool has introduced the new Basin Buddy, a universal basin wrench socket designed to eliminate these types of setbacks. Machined from anodized aluminum it is a multifunctional, compact tool used to remove a variety of coupling nuts and locknuts in hard-to-reach places under your bathroom vanity or pedestal sink. The unique design of the cut-a-way body allows the tool to fit around feed lines and ½ faucet shanks to easily remove coupling nuts and locknuts with a ¼ ratchet and extension. If you only have a 3/8″ drive and extension, no problem, included with the tool is a ¼” to 3/8″ adapter which allows you to use either size ratchet drive.
